About Kaunas University of Technology
Kaunas University of Technology is one of the most prominent universities of Lithuania and is in Kaunas. The university is home to more than 9,000 students and welcomes countless international students.
Kaunas University of Technology is a public research university offering a diverse choice of studies and collaborating with businesses. KTU has been one of the leading institutes of science education in Lithuania since its foundation in 1922. According to the 2021 Lithuanian National University Rankings, KTU was the second-best university in Lithuania. According to QS World University Rankings 2019, KTU is ranked among the top 500 global colleges based on employer reputation. Although Lithuanian is the major language of instruction, several courses are offered in both Lithuanian and English. Engineering, technology, physical and social sciences, humanities, and arts are all available at the university. The University Library is one of the largest in Lithuania, housing and constantly replenishing one of the most extensive collections of printed books and journals on engineering, technology, and science in Lithuanian and other languages, as well as providing access to e-resources.
KTU not only established the first and most successful academic Startup Space, but it also contains the Baltics' largest science and technology park. Students have access to the most advanced research equipment available in Lithuania.
The largest modern mobile applications laboratory in the Baltic States, the only one in the Baltics Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, Intermedix creative hub, and laboratories of sustainable chemistry, mechatronics, future energy, environmental engineering, information, and telecommunication technologies are just a few of the technological resources available. KTU Career Centre assists students and graduates in discovering their favorite activities, planning long-term life and professional goals, and facilitating their effective integration into the labor market. Admission Requirements for Bachelor’s Degree Programs:
- ID card or passport.
- A certificate from the Study Quality Evaluation Centre (hereinafter, SKVC) testifying to the recognition of acquired education as being on par with the educational system of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as a certificate attesting to the identification of comparable subjects and the transfer (conversion) of evaluation marks.
- Vilnius University's level C1 certificate for Lithuanian language proficiency or a level B2 certificate from a competent organization (embassy, municipality school, or officially recognized Lithuanian community in the nation) confirming language proficiency if the studies for which the applicant is seeking are conducted in Lithuanian and the applicant has not passed the state test in Lithuanian language and literature as required by the international organization's educational program.
- If the studies the applicant is applying to are organized in the English language and the person has not taken the state examination of English language, a certificate certifying the level of the English language issued by IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR or another competent institution within the last two years. Minimum requirements are IELTS ≥5.5, TOEFL ≥75, CEFR ≥B2.
- A certificate or similar document verifying the Lithuanian origin provided by the Lithuanian community of the nation from where the applicant arrives or another authorized entity (embassy, etc.) if the individual is a foreigner of Lithuanian descent. The document must be presented in either Russian, English, or Lithuanian, along with an official translation.

Admission Requirements for Master’s Degree Programs:
- A passport or, in case of the citizen of the European Union, personal ID card.
- if the applicant possesses one, a current temporary or permanent residence visa to stay in the Republic of Lithuania or another member state of the European Union.
- A photograph for a document.
- For admission to the second cycle (Master's) study programs, a maturity certificate, its supplemental document, or other documentation attesting to secondary education; for entrance to the study programs of the second cycle (Master's) studies, a diploma and its supplement.
- A certificate from the SKVC stating that the applicant has completed education that is comparable to the Republic of Lithuania's educational system, if received prior to submitting an application for studies at the university (if the applicant does not have this certificate, the qualification will be acknowledged in accordance with the university's established procedure).
- a certificate of English language proficiency, if applicable.

Accommodation and Cost of Living
Kaunas is among the 10 cities with the most affordable prices in Europe. Average monthly living costs are between € 400-450. Kaunas University of Technology offers accommodation in dormitories, and students can also rent a house if they wish.
The fees for single rooms in dormitories vary between 119 - 135 Euros, double rooms 75-111 Euros, and triple rooms 65-70 Euros.
Social Life
KTU is located in Kaunas, the second-largest city in Lithuania and frequently referred to as the intellectual and cultural center of the country. Living is made enjoyable by a secure atmosphere and moderate environmental conditions. Within 15 minutes of the KTU campus are a vibrant old town, green parks, and riverbank with recreational spaces. Students have the option of residing in KTU residence halls and participating in sports, the arts, and other on-campus student activities.
